Kun Iam Tong Temple

Introduction

Kun Iam Tong Temple is the largest antique temple in Macao. The whole temple can be divided into three shrines, dedicating Triratna Buddha, Longevity Buddha, Kun Iam and the eighteen Arhats. Shi Lian Da Shan (1633-1705) is believed to be the founder of Kun Iam Tong Temple.

The historical painting, calligraphy and artifacts produced by eminent monks and the different famous artists have been hanged on wall. Famous artists include: Guan Shanyue (Lingnan School of Painting), Chen Gongyin (one of the three Lingnan Poets) and Zhang Taiyan. Together with A-Ma Temple and Lin Fong Temple, Kun Iam Temple is seen as the three biggest antique temples in Macao In 1992, Kun Iam Temple is also categorized as one of the eight tourist attractions in Macao.
